The Saginaw Police Reserve has served our city since 1978 and hopes to continue its work for many years to come.
The Reserve assists the Police Department in many areas, such as parking ticket distribution, subpoena delivery, and traffic and crowd control for city events. The Reserve provides assistance for large community events such as: the Fourth of July Fireworks, the Friday Night Live series, and the WKCQ Music Fest on Ojibway Island. Along with other Saginaw Police officers, The Reserve also participates in the Cops-n-Kids program, in which uniformed officers read and hand out books to school-aged children at various locations.
The Reserve is a voluntary unit and is not paid for through any city funds. As such, equipment needs are funded entirely through fundraising efforts on the part of The Reserve. The Reserve is seeking grants or other groups that are able to contribute.
